Sitter For Your Critters is dedicated to contracting only the best, most caring, and qualified pet lovers around. We run each sitter through an extensive screening. How do we hire our pet sitters? Step 1: After a face to face interview, a thorough background check on each prospective pet sitter is run through a service called Castle Branch. Step 2: We call all professional references supplied to us by the contractor. Step 3: Each sitter is contracted on a trial period. We make follow-up phone calls to our clients to make sure they are satisfied with the work done by their petsitter. Step 4: We continue to run ongoing evaluations of each sitter to assure they are adhering to the standards of Sitter For Your Critters. My name is Kelley Denz, I am the founder of Sitter for Your Critters. Pets are my passion and have always been a huge part of my life. I have owned dogs, cats, horses, parrots, chinchillas, chickens, cows, goats, and sheep. I believe in animal rescue and support Butte Humane Society, Chico Animal Shelter, and Chico Cat Coalition with donations volunteering, and fostering animals in need.
Jonathan Greenfield
Pet Sitter and Manager
Jonathan has worked for Sitter For Your Critters since 2017, and has been our Team Manager since 2020.
His love for animals stems from his experiences growing up around different species of reptiles while also pet-sitting dogs and cats around the neighborhood. After studying biology at San José State, he moved to Chico where he currently lives with his wife and their dog, Cooper. Jonathan also has his own pet business, Greenfield Pet Photography.
Jonathan can’t wait to share his passion for animals with you and to become your pets’ new best friend!
Katie Hakanson
Pet Sitter
Katie has worked for Sitter For Your Critters since 2018. She enjoys arts and crafts, writing, and yoga. In spring 2024, she earned her CBATI-KA dog training certificate and is working towards becoming a dog trainer.
Katie also graduated from Chico State University in Spring 2018 with a degree in Anthropology. She is originally from Pleasanton in the Bay Area where she grew up with four Beagles, two Yorkies, and two Chihuahua mixes. She now lives in Chico with her husband and their dog Cooper. Katie is excited to meet you and to begin caring for your pets!

Hi, I’m Anabel! Avid reader, singer, and reigning champion of UNO (seriously, challenge me if you dare). I grew up right here in Chico, took a quick adventure away for university in 2021, and now I’m back at a local university on the path to becoming a veterinarian.
Life at home is ruled by my two cats: Dalloway (the angel) and Tiger Lilly (the fearless explorer). When I’m not buried in textbooks or sipping tea, you’ll probably catch me at a play, humming along to a new album, or persuading friends that yes, this song really will change their life.

Hi my name is Rachel and im a sitter with sitter for your critters. I’m originally from the mountains of San Diego where I grew up with numerous kinds of pets and farm animals. I moved to beautiful Chico to expand my education and experience in Agriculture. I live here with my boyfriend and my kitty Angelina. Alongside with my passion for caring for animals I love spending time outdoors, exploring, and exercising. I care for each animal as if it were my own and I can’t wait to meet you and your critters!

Hi, I’m Camila! I’m an animal science major at Chico State. I have called Chico home for the past few years. I’ve always had a soft spot for animals, and my Sheltie and two cats make sure there’s never a dull moment at home.
Over the past couple of years, I’ve cared for pets of all kinds and really enjoy getting to know each one’s routine and personality.
My hobbies include spending time outdoors, hanging out with friends, and unwinding with a good movie. I take pride in making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while their people are away, and I can’t wait to meet your furry family members!

I’m originally from Colorado, where I spent lots of time surrounded by dogs, cats, and all kinds of furry friends. Animals have always had my heart, and I’m really excited to share that love with your pets.
I’m currently majoring in Business Marketing at Chico State University, when I’m not studying or spending time with animals, you can usually find me outside, playing sports, or enjoying the sunshine.
